Rift between the Duchess of Sussex and the Princess of Wales shows no sign of healing
Years after stepping away from royal life, Meghan Markle continues to be haunted by tensions that reportedly remain unresolved with Catherine, the Princess of Wales. The strained relationship between the two women, once seen as a potential modern bond within the monarchy, appears to have reached a point of no return.
According to insiders, the distance between California and the Palace has only deepened the divide. While Meghan has embraced her life in the US alongside Harry, the Duke of Sussex is said to feel increasingly isolated from his family back home. Meanwhile, reports suggest that Meghan believes she is being targeted by what she views as a coordinated campaign from Palace circles, with Catherine at the centre of it.
“Meghan is beyond furious. She’s certain there’s an organised effort to bring her down, and she’s convinced it’s coming straight from the Palace,” a source told Radar Online. The Duchess is reportedly frustrated that her recent projects have struggled to gain traction, including her latest Netflix show, which failed to break into the platform’s Top 10 in the US or UK.
Royal observers trace the tension between the two back to a series of incidents that fuelled years of mistrust. One flashpoint reportedly came when Meghan made a comment about Catherine’s “baby brain” following childbirth, which left the Princess hurt. Another dispute emerged over the fit and length of Princess Charlotte’s bridesmaid dress ahead of Meghan’s wedding — a disagreement that reportedly left both women in tears.
Commentators note that their contrasting upbringings and personalities have only magnified their differences. “She’s been telling friends that the royals – particularly Catherine – are using their media connections to quietly undermine her work. In her mind, none of this is happening by chance,” the source added.
Despite public hopes of reconciliation, insiders believe the relationship between Meghan and Catherine is now too damaged to repair, with each side privately standing firm in their version of events.
