King Charles’s grandson receives a light-hearted invitation to become a patron of the World Conker Championships after Catherine’s playful remark.
King Charles’s youngest grandson, Prince Louis, has been offered his first-ever royal role—though his parents have politely declined on his behalf.
The seven-year-old royal, known for his cheeky personality during public appearances, caught the attention of the World Conker Championships after Catherine mentioned his love for collecting conkers during a chat with former US First Lady Melania Trump.
According to reports, the organisers extended an invitation for Louis to become a patron of their annual competition. However, Kensington Palace responded with a humorous statement: “We really appreciate the invite but currently Prince Louis is ‘conker-trating’ on his studies.”
The offer followed Catherine’s light-hearted conversation during the recent US State Visit, where she revealed that Louis has been gathering conkers “everywhere,” including in cupboards, under his bed, and even in his toy trucks.
Palace aides were said to be amused by the gesture, though William and Catherine chose to decline the honour. The Wales children—George, Charlotte, and Louis—are all known for their love of outdoor play, a reflection of their parents’ commitment to ensuring they stay connected with nature.
