Prince Andrew Accused of Using Taxpayer-Funded Security to Meet Women, New Book Claims

Fresh allegations emerge as King Charles’s brother faces renewed scrutiny over his past conduct

Prince Andrew is facing a new wave of controversy following explosive claims that he used taxpayer-funded bodyguards to approach women on his behalf, according to royal biographer Andrew Lownie.

In his upcoming book, Entitled: The Rise and Fall of the House of York, Lownie alleges that the Duke of York — who recently relinquished his royal titles amid ongoing fallout from his ties to Jeffrey Epstein — maintained a network of aides, friends, and protection officers who helped him meet women.

The author claims Andrew “had a type,” often favouring blondes, and would rely on his staff to make introductions at high-profile venues and events. “He would spot an attractive ballerina at the Royal Ballet and send his Personal Protection Officers to invite her to meet him,” Lownie writes. “At other times, he’d have aides approach women at London’s Chinawhite nightclub or while travelling abroad.”

Lownie also alleges that the prince used his position as patron of the English National Ballet to gain access to young dancers, suggesting his involvement was less about supporting the arts and more about pursuing personal interests.

The allegations come just days after Andrew formally gave up his Duke of York title, a move he said was intended to prevent further distraction from the King and the rest of the royal family.

Adding to the mounting criticism, a Daily Mail report revealed that Andrew allegedly used his Metropolitan Police protection team to obtain personal information about Virginia Giuffre — the woman who accused him of sexual assault, which he has always denied. The details, including her date of birth and criminal record, were reportedly shared in an email marked “for investigation.”

The Metropolitan Police have since launched an internal investigation into the claims.

As public pressure grows, the scandal continues to cast a long shadow over Andrew’s already damaged reputation, deepening the challenges facing King Charles as he seeks to modernise and stabilise the monarchy.
