Experts warn that public exposure of the Duke’s protection details could put him at greater risk.
Harry’s safety has come under fresh scrutiny following reports that a female stalker managed to get dangerously close to him on two separate occasions during his recent visit to the United Kingdom.
In response, the Duke has reportedly contacted Shabana Mahmood, the new head of security and crime prevention, to request a review of the risks to him and his family.
Security specialist Hannah, speaking to The Telegraph, expressed serious concern over how much information about Harry’s protection has become public. “It concerns me, I have to say, the amount that is made public about Harry’s security,” she said. “The royal family are always careful never to discuss security matters. That approach helps them avoid both public questions and unnecessary exposure.”
According to Hannah, this new level of transparency could be counterproductive. “The real reason for maintaining silence is to avoid revealing any potential weaknesses,” she explained. “Not every royal has full-time police protection, but by keeping quiet, no one knows who does or doesn’t — and that’s part of what keeps them safe.”
She went on to add, “It worries me that people around the Duke don’t seem to follow the same cautious approach that has protected others for years.”
The expert also suggested that the couple’s openness may stem from their highly visible appearances in cities like Paris, New York, and Washington, D.C., where their movements often draw intense public and media attention.
