Prince William and Catherine Set Aside Rift with Harry and Meghan for a Shared Cause

The royal couples focus on mental health awareness despite past tensions

Royal fans are pleased to see the so-called “fab four” — William, Catherine, Harry, and Meghan — appearing to move past old differences to support a shared mission.

Last week, the Prince and Princess of Wales marked World Mental Health Day with powerful messages. William shared an emotional video urging people to seek help to prevent suicide, while Catherine spoke about the growing loneliness among young people caused by excessive social media use.

At the same time, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex were recognised at the World Mental Health Day gala in New York, receiving the Humanitarian Award for their ongoing efforts to highlight the dangers of digital spaces.

Royal expert Jennie Bond told the Mirror that these recent appearances are not about rivalry but about shared purpose. “I don’t think this is a competition between Harry and Meghan and William and Catherine,” she said. “The two princes and Catherine were involved in mental health causes long before Meghan came along. It’s something they all care deeply about.”

Bond added that both couples are now working to raise awareness about the dangers the internet and social media pose to children — a message that affects everyone. She believes all four should be commended for using their platforms to bring attention to such an important issue.

While they may be pursuing their causes separately, their commitment to mental health shows that some priorities go beyond family divides.
