The heir to the throne sets his sights on reform while distancing from his brother.
Prince William is concentrating on shaping a modern, controversy-free monarchy rather than seeking revenge against his brother, Harry. Despite King Charles’s recent efforts to mend ties with his younger son, the Prince of Wales remains focused on his own vision for the royal family’s future.
According to reports, the Duke of Sussex met his father privately at Clarence House last month, raising hopes of reconciliation. However, there’s been no contact between the brothers, who reportedly haven’t spoken in nearly three years. While Charles continues to show warmth toward Harry, William and Catherine have kept to their royal duties, choosing not to engage.
Following what insiders described as a “major victory” in reducing Prince Andrew’s royal standing, William is said to be working on further reforms to streamline the monarchy. Sources told Closer Magazine that he wants a royal family that is “efficient and scandal-free,” even if that means completely cutting ties with Harry and Meghan Markle.
Though earlier reports suggested William harboured resentment toward his brother for damaging the royal family’s image, insiders now claim he’s moved past revenge. Instead, his focus is on protecting the institution’s reputation and ensuring its long-term survival.
“William insists this isn’t about revenge,” a source said. “He believes Harry and Meghan’s actions are harming the monarchy and that their use of royal connections for profit can’t be ignored.”
Meanwhile, Harry told The Guardian that his attention remains on his father’s health and his life in Montecito. He made clear that he has no plans to return to royal duties or move back to the United Kingdom.
