Sarah Ferguson Responds to Claims of Queen Camilla’s 'Monumental Snub'

The Duchess of York dismisses rumours of tension over a proposed literary collaboration amid royal family upheaval.

Sarah Ferguson has spoken out following reports that Queen Camilla allegedly “snubbed” her over a potential book partnership. The story, which surfaced amid renewed scrutiny of royal family dynamics, has added fuel to the ongoing controversies surrounding the Duke and Duchess of York.

According to reports in the Mail, Fergie approached Queen Camilla to collaborate on her upcoming children’s book, Flora & Fern: Kindness Along The Way, possibly through the Queen’s Reading Room. The outlet claimed Camilla rebuffed the idea, describing the move as a “monumental snub.”

However, Ferguson’s representatives have strongly denied the story. Speaking to the Mirror, her spokesperson stated there was never any proposal for a collaboration, calling the claims “completely untrue.” They also clarified that while none of Ferguson’s books have featured on the Queen’s Reading Room list since its launch in 2021, there is no ill will between the two.

The 65-year-old former Duchess of York has built a successful career as an author, known for both romantic fiction and children’s books. Her latest release, Flora and Fern: Kindness Along The Way, highlights the values of kindness and community through the adventures of its two main characters.

Meanwhile, Queen Camilla’s Reading Room, launched in 2021, has become a respected literary platform promoting the joys of reading and its positive impact. The Queen has often spoken about how books have inspired her since childhood, describing their “extraordinary power to educate and inspire.”
