Report claims King Charles finally acted after years of frustration with his brother
King Charles III has reportedly reached his breaking point with his brother, Andrew, after years of tension surrounding the monarchy’s silence on Jeffrey Epstein’s victims.
According to The Times, via the Daily Mail, Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor allegedly refused to approve royal statements expressing sympathy for Epstein’s victims since 2019 — the same year his disastrous Newsnight interview forced him to step back from public duties.
Sources suggest that Andrew’s repeated attempts to prevent the Palace from commenting on the issue angered the King, who has now made his stance clear. “There has long been a sense from the family that the voices of the victims needed to be heard,” a friend of the King and Queen told The Times. “Now, the King has lost his patience: this statement is no longer by committee, it’s from the King himself.”
On October 30, Buckingham Palace issued a statement confirming the removal of Andrew’s remaining royal honours and style titles. It read, “Their Majesties wish to make clear that their thoughts and utmost sympathies have been, and will remain with, the victims and survivors of any and all forms of abuse.”
Andrew, who continues to deny all allegations against him, reiterated his position earlier in October when he relinquished his Duke of York title.
A royal insider added that Charles and Queen Camilla “have felt the public anger and they have acted,” marking a definitive break between the King and his disgraced brother.
