Actress opens up about nerves, tears, and a few laughs before the debut of her new film
Jennifer Lawrence couldn’t hold back her emotions as she reflected on her career and her latest project during an appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.
The Oscar-winning actress admitted she felt “very nervous” and confessed that in earlier interviews she sometimes came across as “annoying.” Fallon reassured her, but the conversation quickly took a heartfelt turn when she began talking about her new film Die My Love.
Lawrence broke into tears while explaining how much she admired director Lynne Ramsay. “Lynne is someone I’ve always wanted to work with. She’s a genius, and I still can’t believe I’m talking about this,” she said, before laughing through her tears as Fallon tried to cheer her up.
Moments later, Lawrence was in tears again—this time over a lighthearted mix-up on the film’s Canadian set. She shared that when a line producer asked if background child actors could use her “room,” she thought he meant her hotel room rather than her trailer. “It turned into this hilarious misunderstanding,” she said, jokingly bursting into mock tears once more.
Throughout the interview, Fallon kept the mood upbeat while Lawrence balanced humour and honesty about her nerves before the release.
Die My Love, co-starring Robert Pattinson, tells the story of a young mother whose mental health unravels after moving to the countryside. The film releases on November 7.
