King Charles Buys New Home for Andrew on Sandringham Estate

The monarch’s Norfolk retreat becomes a fresh start for his embattled brother

King Charles seems to be doing more than sorting royal paperwork these days—he’s reportedly found a new residence for his brother Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor on the Sandringham estate.

The Duke, who will be leaving Royal Lodge in Windsor, is expected to move into his new Norfolk home by 2026. The move, seen by some as both a relocation and a strategic image refresh, coincides with the release of a new promotional video from the King’s team highlighting Sandringham’s serene beauty.

Shared on the estate’s official social media channels, the short film showcases 600 acres of perfectly kept gardens within 20,000 acres of sweeping royal parkland. Gentle text across the screen reads, “Wandering through the royal parkland,” as the camera glides through golden autumn woods, peaceful paths, and even a large children’s play area—perhaps a hint at a more family-friendly chapter for the royal property.

The accompanying caption read, “Nothing beats a wander through The Royal Parkland this November. Come and see the season changing as you explore new paths and discover beautiful spots in the woodlands.”

Locals and royal fans quickly filled the comments with admiration. One wrote, “I walk there every day and thoroughly enjoy it with my dogs. It’s a privilege to have this on my doorstep.” Another added, “One of our favourite walks,” while a third simply said, “Beautiful memories.”

According to Hello!, Sandringham remains the crown jewel of royal country homes. “It’s easy to see why the family treasure it so much,” a royal insider noted. “There’s a sense of peace and privacy that makes it feel truly like home.”
