Sarah Ferguson’s worst fears come true with a harsh new setback

Major blow lands as Fergie prepares to leave Royal Lodge for good

Sarah Ferguson is facing the very outcome she had tried hardest to avoid. The former Duchess of York had worked to protect her career as a children’s author, even sending a pleading email to Jeffrey Epstein years ago. All of that has now collapsed as she receives a final, unwelcome update.

Last month, royal correspondent Richard Palmer reported that her upcoming children’s book faced delays amid continuing scrutiny over the leaked email. Charities had already cut ties, and with the King ordering the couple to vacate Royal Lodge and removing Andrew’s title, Fergie has now been dealt another decisive setback.

Daily Mail’s Royal Editor Rebecca English has confirmed Palmer’s earlier reporting. She revealed that Fergie’s new book, Flora and Fern: Kindness Along The Way, is not simply postponed. It is being pulped. Ten thousand copies are being sent for recycling after sources said the situation made the book unsellable. One insider described the move as an acceptance of what had become unavoidable.

Fergie’s spokesperson did not comment, and neither did New Frontier Publishing. Her team usually pushes back quickly, as they did when the email to Epstein surfaced. In that message, Fergie praised the convicted offender as a “generous, steadfast and supreme friend”. Her camp later said she regretted sending it, explaining that Epstein had threatened legal action after she criticised him in a 2011 interview, calling her association with him a “terrible error of judgement”.

The explanation did little to repair the fallout. Fergie lost her charity roles and has remained outside the royal fold. Even so, their daughters continue to stay in the King’s good graces.
