Princess of Wales marked her 44th birthday quietly before palace confirmed upcoming Scotland visit
Kensington Palace has confirmed a key engagement for the Prince and Princess of Wales, just days after details emerged about Catherine’s low key 44th birthday celebrations.
According to royal expert Richard Eden, writing for the Daily Mail, Catherine spent her birthday enjoying a relaxed lunch with her mother, Carole, and sister, Pippa. The small gathering reportedly took place at a quiet French restaurant in Hungerford, Berkshire.
Shortly after those details became public, the palace announced that Prince William and Catherine will travel to Scotland in the coming days for a series of official engagements.
Royal correspondent Rebecca English shared on X that the couple will visit Stirling and Falkirk on 20 January. Their programme will focus on Scotland’s cultural heritage and will include three engagements, from meeting Team GB and Paralympic curling teams to trying the sport themselves and learning about traditional tartan making at Radical Weavers.
When in Scotland, Prince William and Catherine are known by their Scottish titles, the Duke and Duchess of Rothesay and the Lord and Lady of the Isles.
