As Catherine and William approach their 15th wedding anniversary this April, those close to the royal couple say their relationship is stronger than ever, shaped by one of the most difficult periods of their lives.
Royal expert Katie Nicholl believes the Prince and Princess of Wales will mark the milestone in a meaningful way, noting that the past year has deeply changed them. Speaking to OK!, Nicholl said the couple now appear more united than at any point in their marriage.
“William and Catherine look more united today than ever,” she said, describing their relationship as a genuine partnership built on friendship, love and mutual respect. According to Nicholl, the challenges they have faced have only brought them closer. “They’ve been to hell and back in the past year or two, but they look very strong together and are clearly very much in love.”
The expert also reflected on how Catherine’s cancer battle tested their bond. “Going through cancer can make or break a couple,” she explained. “But we’ve heard William speak so openly and movingly about his love for his wife and his admiration for everything she has been through.”
William himself has described 2024 as the toughest year of his life. At the time, he admitted he did not know whether he might lose his wife and the mother of his children, calling it an unbearable position for any family to face.
Nicholl added that despite the strain, the couple remained steadfast. “It’s been incredibly challenging. They have stuck together through awful times and have become even more tight-knit.”
William recently echoed that sentiment, saying he is proud of both his wife and his father for how they handled the situation. “From a personal family point of view,” he said, “it’s been brutal.”
As their anniversary approaches, it is clear that the last 15 years, especially the hardest moments, have reinforced the strength of Catherine and William’s marriage rather than weakened it.
