Sarah Ferguson Suffers New Financial Blow After Royal Setback

Fresh debt emerges as the Duchess prepares to leave Royal Lodge and rebuild yet again

Sarah Ferguson has reportedly been hit with another setback as financial pressures mount following the loss of her royal titles and her impending move out of Royal Lodge.

According to a report by the Daily Mail, the 66 year old has disclosed further debt linked to Ginger & Moss, the private company through which she hoped to sell teas and jewellery. The business accounts filed at Companies House show £363,000 in bills, alongside a £321,000 deficit in capital and reserves. Assets were listed at just £43,000.

The figures mark a worsening position. For the year ending March 2025, the company’s deficit rose from £304,000 in 2024 to its current level, highlighting a growing financial strain.

Ginger & Moss is co owned with Gate Ventures plc, which went into administration in 2020 owing around £24 million. The loan tied to the company remains outstanding, according to the latest insolvency report.

Liquidators stated that discussions have continued over the unpaid loan and added they remain hopeful of making a substantial recovery for the estate.

The financial news comes at a difficult time for Ferguson, who is also preparing to leave Royal Lodge. An insider told The Telegraph that she has been deeply affected by losing her titles and her former royal standing.

“She’s in a very bad way,” the source said. “But she’ll dust herself down and attempt to reinvent herself again somehow.”

For many observers, the latest blow underlines how sharply fortunes have shifted for the Duchess, even as she tries once more to find a stable path forward outside the royal fold.
