Why Harry Is Unlikely to See William and Catherine During His UK Return

Harry is expected to miss any chance of seeing Prince William and Catherine during his upcoming trip to the UK, largely because their schedules are taking them in opposite directions.

The Duke of Sussex is due to return to London on January 19 for a High Court appearance linked to his legal battle with Associated Newspapers. Just two days later, on January 21, the Prince and Princess of Wales will leave England for Scotland, putting hundreds of miles between them.

William and Catherine are set to visit Stirling, where they will meet Great Britain’s Olympic and Paralympic curling teams at the National Curling Academy, ahead of the Winter Olympic and Paralympic Games taking place in Italy later this year. The couple will also stop by Radical Weavers, a local handweaving studio and charity, during the same trip.

Meanwhile, Harry will remain in London as his case against Associated Newspapers continues. The lawsuit also involves several high profile figures, including Elizabeth Hurley, Sadie Frost, and Elton John, who have all alleged illegal information gathering. The publisher, which owns the Daily Mail and Mail on Sunday, has denied the claims, according to the BBC.

It has also been reported that Harry is not expected to meet his father, King Charles, during this visit. Their last meeting came after an 18 month gap, when they briefly saw each other over a private tea at Clarence House.

With William and Catherine heading north and Harry tied up in court proceedings, any reunion during this trip now appears highly unlikely.
