The Duke of Sussex and Meghan Markle are reportedly offering behind-the-scenes support to Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie as pressure builds around the York family.
According to reports, the Sussexes, who are said to be close to Andrew’s daughters, are encouraging them to speak openly and are willing to help facilitate a tell-all interview if they decide to go public. Sources claim the couple believe honesty could help the sisters regain control of the narrative amid what has been described as a deeply humiliating period.
The speculation comes as renewed claims surface suggesting the sisters may have had some awareness of their father Prince Andrew’s friendship with Jeffrey Epstein, allegations that have intensified scrutiny of the wider family.
At the same time, attention is turning to Prince William, who is expected to take a firm stance on how the situation is handled going forward. The Express reports that William, as future king, is unlikely to overlook any associations that could further damage the monarchy.
Speaking to the Daily Mail, royal commentator Richard Fitzwilliams said difficult decisions may lie ahead.
“It may fall to William to decide the future of Andrew’s daughters,” he said, adding that neither is thought to be particularly close to William or Catherine.
Fitzwilliams noted that King Charles reportedly respects their current arrangement, where they balance careers, family life, and limited charitable work without being working royals. However, he warned that William could adopt a tougher approach when he eventually ascends the throne.
“It depends on how badly the Royal Family is affected by what happens next,” he said, pointing to the possibility of ongoing police assessments and the chance of Andrew facing arrest and trial. If that were to happen, Fitzwilliams suggested it could become impossible for the monarchy to move forward with any York family members still attached.
He concluded by saying that William and Catherine do not appear to have close ties with Andrew’s daughters and would likely not feel their absence if a clean break became necessary.
