Insiders say the Prince of Wales has quietly pushed to remove Andrew from Royal Lodge for years
Royal insiders claim Prince William has little patience left for Sarah Ferguson, with tensions sharpened by the long shadow of the Epstein scandal linked to her and Prince Andrew.
According to Woman’s Day, sources say William’s feelings towards the former Duchess of York are anything but warm. Palace figures speaking to royal biographer Andrew Lownie claim the Prince of Wales has been frustrated with both Sarah and Andrew for years.
One confidant described a strained relationship between William and his uncle, saying there have been repeated clashes. Andrew was allegedly rude about Catherine, and William has, for some time, worked quietly to have Andrew removed from Royal Lodge. In William’s view, Andrew is misusing the property and the privilege that comes with it. The source added that William “also loathes Sarah Ferguson”.
Insiders say William is keen to see a reset. He is said to be counting on King Charles to take decisive action, but if that does not happen, they believe William will act himself once he becomes king.
The reported dislike is also linked to Sarah’s 2010 “cash for access” controversy, when she was filmed allegedly offering access to Andrew for £500,000 to an undercover reporter posing as a businessman. The scandal caused major fallout, and the following year Sarah was notably absent from William and Catherine’s wedding in 2011.
For William, sources suggest, the issue is not just personal dislike but a broader push to protect the monarchy’s reputation and draw a firm line under past controversies.
