Prince Harry’s Australia Trip ‘Not About Money’ as Focus Turns to Charity Work

Duke of Sussex said to be concentrating on philanthropy and long-standing charitable commitments

Harry’s upcoming visit to Australia is reportedly centred on charity work rather than financial gain, with the Duke of Sussex aiming to expand his philanthropic efforts during the trip.

The three-day tour, which he plans to undertake with Meghan Markle, is expected to highlight several causes that remain close to him. According to royal commentator Richard Palmer, the visit reflects Harry’s continued focus on humanitarian projects reminiscent of his earlier royal work.

Writing for i, Palmer noted that Harry’s main attention remains on his charity commitments and patronages. These include the Invictus Games Foundation, conservation work with African Parks, support for seriously ill children through WellChild, and assistance for bereaved military families via Scotty’s Little Soldiers.

He is also continuing efforts to promote more sustainable tourism through Travalyst.

At the same time, Harry is involved in a legal battle at the High Court in London against Associated Newspapers, the publisher of the Daily Mail and Mail on Sunday. The case centres on historic allegations of unlawful news-gathering, which the company and its journalists strongly deny.

Sources close to the Duke say the legal action is about accountability rather than financial compensation. Even if the case does not go in his favour, insiders claim it would not affect him financially because he is insured.

“This has never been about money. If it were only about money, he would not have pursued it,” a source said. “For him, it has always been about accountability, truth and justice.”
