Prince of Wales worries his father’s health could suffer as tensions grow behind palace doors
Prince William is said to be increasingly frustrated with Queen Camilla as concerns continue over King Charles’ health and workload.
Over the years, the Prince of Wales has tried to move forward and accept Camilla as part of the family, largely out of respect for his father. However, insiders now claim that his patience may be wearing thin, with William believing the Queen is beginning to overstep.
According to a report by Closer, tensions resurfaced after a difficult period for the royal family in 2024, when both King Charles and Catherine received cancer diagnoses. During that time, senior royals had to balance personal challenges with public duties, placing the monarchy under intense pressure.
Now, the disagreement reportedly centres on how much work the King should take on. While William is said to favour a lighter schedule to protect his father’s health, Camilla is believed to be encouraging Charles to continue carrying out royal duties.
A source close to the situation claims William had previously tried hard to move past earlier grievances with Camilla, largely because it mattered to his father. However, those past tensions are said to have resurfaced.
“Over the years he made a real effort to accept her because that’s what his father wanted,” the insider reportedly said. “But old frustrations have come back, and it’s becoming harder for him to simply forget the past.”
Ironically, William and Camilla were once thought to have found common ground in their shared mistrust of Harry and Meghan Markle. Yet the source claims that this temporary alignment has not been enough to maintain harmony.
The insider added that William fears his father could be pushed too hard if he continues with a demanding schedule. From his perspective, encouraging the King to carry on regardless of health concerns is deeply troubling.
As a result, the situation is said to have left William particularly irritated, believing the King should be focusing on recovery rather than maintaining a heavy workload.
