Why King Charles Did Not Meet Andrew During Sandringham Stay

King Charles chose not to see his brother Andrew Mountbatten Windsor during a recent visit to Sandringham, despite both men being on the estate at the same time.

The monarch, 77, was photographed at Sandringham in Norfolk on February 28 and March 1. Andrew currently lives on the estate, yet there were no plans for the two to meet, according to reports.

Instead, Charles attended a Sunday service at St Mary Magdalene Church. He was seen wearing a camel trench coat and carrying an umbrella as he made his way through the rain. No further details about the purpose of his trip have been made public.

The decision not to meet Andrew comes amid renewed controversy surrounding the Duke of York. Andrew was recently arrested on suspicion of misconduct in public office on his 66th birthday. The development followed continued scrutiny linked to the so called Epstein files, which have brought fresh attention to his past associations.

In a statement released on February 19, the King said he had learned of the situation with “the deepest concern.” He stressed that the matter should be handled through a full and proper investigation by the relevant authorities, adding that they would have the Royal Family’s full support and cooperation.

Charles’s low key visit, combined with the absence of any meeting, has fuelled speculation that the distance between the brothers remains firmly in place as the legal process unfolds.
