Singer postpones Las Vegas shows as treatment continues
Dolly Parton has opened up to fans about her current health, revealing a mix of encouraging progress and temporary setbacks.
In a video message shared on Instagram, the country music icon said she is responding well to treatment. “The good news is I’m responding really well to meds and treatments, and I’m improving every day,” she told followers, offering reassurance about her recovery.
However, she also explained that the same treatments are causing side effects that make performing difficult. Describing the impact in her usual lighthearted way, Parton said the medication leaves her feeling “a little bit swimmy-headed,” making it unsafe to return to the stage just yet.
Because of this, she has decided to postpone her upcoming Las Vegas shows, which were scheduled for September at Caesars Palace. She added that performing in her signature style, complete with high heels, instruments, and elaborate outfits, would be too demanding while she is still recovering.
Despite the delay, Parton kept an upbeat tone, joking about the physical demands of her performances, from carrying instruments to wearing heavy rhinestone costumes and towering heels.
This is not the first time the residency has been pushed back. The shows were originally planned for December 2025 but were rescheduled due to earlier, undisclosed health concerns.
For now, Parton appears focused on recovery, with fans continuing to send support as she works toward getting back on stage.
