Efforts by Prince Harry to repair his relationship with the royal family are reportedly facing another major obstacle, with claims that Prince William remains deeply cautious about reopening communication with his younger brother.
Speculation surrounding a possible reconciliation has continued for months, especially as King Charles III continues cancer treatment. Reports suggest the Duke of Sussex has privately hoped to reconnect with both his father and the wider royal circle.
However, royal commentator Duncan Larcombe believes the biggest concern within the family centres on trust.
Speaking to New magazine, Larcombe claimed the Prince of Wales fears that any private conversations with Harry could eventually become public.
“Prince William can't reach out to Harry for fear of him then publicising it,” the royal expert said, describing the issue as the main “blockage” standing in the way of reconciliation.
Larcombe also suggested the King faces a difficult balancing act, as senior royals may worry that renewed contact could lead to further revelations from Harry and Meghan Markle about private family matters.
According to the commentator, concerns over additional disclosures and public “bombshells” remain a major source of anxiety within the royal household.
The strained relationship between Harry and the royal family has remained under intense public scrutiny since the Duke and Meghan stepped back from royal duties and later spoke openly about their experiences within the monarchy.
