Princess Eugenie’s growing family may also signal a shift in royal family dynamics, according to a royal expert.
The York royal, who is expecting her third child with husband Jack Brooksbank this summer, could soon be appearing more regularly at family gatherings alongside other senior royals.
Speaking to HELLO! Magazine, royal editor Emily Nash suggested the new baby will arrive during a very different period for the York family compared to when Eugenie welcomed her older children.
Nash explained that Prince Andrew and Sarah Ferguson have spent significant time with Eugenie’s sons, August and Ernest, but circumstances surrounding the family have since changed.
According to the expert, the couple may choose to keep a slightly lower profile this time, although she noted that Sarah would likely still want to remain closely involved with her new grandchild.
The royal commentator also pointed to King Charles’ response to the pregnancy announcement as a sign that Eugenie and her sister have not been pushed aside within the royal family.
She said the King’s warm reaction showed he still holds affection for his nieces and suggested they may once again be seen more often at royal family occasions.
The comments came after Buckingham Palace released a statement confirming that King Charles had been informed of the pregnancy and was “delighted with the news.”
