Insiders claim the father and son hold sharply different views on handling a sensitive issue facing the monarchy
Prince William and King Charles are said to be growing increasingly divided on an important royal matter, with insiders suggesting their differing approaches are creating tension behind palace walls.
According to a source familiar with the situation, the King and his heir have developed contrasting views on how certain challenges should be handled, highlighting a wider gap in their outlooks.
Speaking to RadarOnline, the insider claimed that Charles prefers a more measured approach. “Charles believes stability is best achieved through compromise,” the source said. “His view is that keeping relations cordial can prevent bigger problems from emerging later.”
William, however, reportedly sees things differently.
The source alleged that the Prince of Wales believes any move that could be interpreted as rewarding silence would send the wrong message and potentially weaken efforts to modernize the monarchy.
The disagreement is said to centre on whether Sarah Ferguson should receive financial support, with William reportedly opposed to the idea.
According to the insider, the future king is prepared to strongly defend his position, believing that providing money in such circumstances could be viewed as an attempt to buy silence.
The source further claimed that William fears such a decision could ultimately damage the monarchy, arguing that it may not guarantee discretion and could create additional problems in the future.
