King Charles may have to pay a significant personal and family cost if he chooses to welcome Prince Harry back into the royal fold, according to royal commentators.
The monarch is reportedly preparing for a possible meeting with his younger son next month, potentially alongside Harry's children. However, any reunion could place further strain on his relationship with Prince William, who remains at odds with his brother.
Royal expert Emily Nash, writing for HELLO!, noted that a meeting between Charles and Harry would carry major implications for the royal family.
Sources suggest that the King's schedule is expected to be extremely busy, and any reunion would depend on whether their commitments align. However, Nash argues that the decision is not without consequences.
"If Charles doesn't see his son and the grandchildren he has not met in person for four years, what message does that send?" she wrote. "And if he does, what does that mean for his relationship with his heir, Prince William?"
The relationship between William and Harry remains deeply strained following a series of public claims made by the Duke of Sussex in interviews, documentaries, and his memoir, Spare.
According to Nash, King Charles finds himself in a difficult position, with either choice likely to attract intense public scrutiny.
"For Charles, either decision will carry a cost and, inevitably, bring a host of headlines," the royal expert concluded.
