Experts Predict Duke and Duchess of Edinburgh Will Become More Prominent in the Monarchy
Prince Edward and Sophie, Duchess of Edinburgh, could be set for an even more significant role within the Royal Family in the years ahead, particularly when Prince William eventually becomes king.
The Duke and Duchess of Edinburgh have become two of King Charles's most dependable working royals, regularly representing the Crown at engagements both in the UK and abroad.
Body language expert Darren Stanton, speaking on behalf of Betfair Casino, suggested that the couple's growing importance is already becoming clear.
"She carries herself exceptionally well," Stanton said of Sophie, praising her confident and approachable public presence.
He added that Sophie and Edward have gradually established themselves as key figures within the monarchy.
"Sophie and Edward seem to be growing steadily into a more prominent position within the Royal Family," Stanton explained.
According to the expert, their responsibilities are likely to expand further as William and Catherine move closer to their future roles as King and Queen.
"As William and Catherine move closer to becoming King and Queen, Sophie and Edward will inevitably become more visible and more important within the monarchy," Stanton said. "In many ways, they're already being prepared for that shift."
Stanton also noted the positive reaction the couple often receives during public engagements, suggesting their approachable nature has helped strengthen their popularity.
"People appear at ease around them, which is often a good reflection of the energy being projected," he added.
With their steady commitment to royal duties and growing public profile, Edward and Sophie are increasingly viewed as valuable members of the monarchy's future leadership team.
