Prince Harry may travel to the UK without Meghan Markle and their children after British authorities reportedly refused to provide security for his family during their planned visit next month.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex were expected to return to the United Kingdom in July 2026 with Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet. However, a new report claims those plans are now uncertain following the latest decision by the Royal and VIP Executive Committee, known as RAVEC.
According to The Sun, RAVEC has rejected requests for protection just a week before Harry is due to arrive in Britain for a series of engagements.
The outlet reported that Harry is still expected to make the trip, but Meghan and the children’s attendance is now being reconsidered because of the security ruling.
The report comes shortly after sources close to the US-based couple claimed Harry planned to bring Meghan, Archie and Lilibet with him to the UK.
Earlier, The Sun reported that a Risk Management Board was expected to meet to discuss Harry’s security arrangements after he lost his High Court bid to restore his 24-hour police protection.
However, the publication has now claimed that no such meeting has taken place and that RAVEC has decided no security will be provided.
Harry has repeatedly expressed concern over his family’s safety in Britain since stepping back from royal duties and moving to the United States with Meghan in 2020.
In 2025, the Duke of Sussex said he was “devastated” after losing his appeal over security arrangements in the UK. Speaking to the BBC at the time, he said he would “struggle to forgive” the decision and warned that he could not safely bring his family back to Britain.
Harry had sought to overturn a Home Office decision that changed the level of publicly funded protection available to him after he and Meghan stepped down as working royals.
The latest report has once again raised questions over whether Meghan, Archie and Lilibet will join Harry on his upcoming visit.
