Prince Harry Promotes Invictus Games in New Video While Royals Attend Ascot

Prince Harry has released a new video message celebrating the Invictus community, highlighting Germany's contribution to the movement as members of the British royal family continued their appearances at Royal Ascot.

The Duke of Sussex addressed competitors, their families, friends, and supporters during the opening show of the Invictus Germany Sports Festival 2026 in Düsseldorf on Friday.

"It was an honor to be sending this message as you all gather in Düsseldorf for another Invictus sporting spectacle," Harry said in his recorded address.

Reflecting on the success of the 2023 Invictus Games in Germany, the prince praised the country's ongoing commitment to veterans and service personnel.

"What started here in 2023 did not end here, we know," he said. "Thanks to Invictus Germany, the Games became the catalyst for lasting national change, strengthening recognition, community and support for veterans, including the national recognition of National Veterans Day."

Harry also looked ahead to the future of the Invictus movement, noting that the community is eagerly anticipating the 2027 Games in the United Kingdom.

"The Invictus community is looking forward to Birmingham 2027 and the announcement of the 2029 host city," he said.

The Duke went on to praise Germany's leadership role within the organization, describing the country's support as vital to the future growth and success of the Invictus Games.

His message came as senior members of the royal family attended Royal Ascot, one of Britain's most prestigious horse racing events and a key fixture on the royal calendar.

Harry, who now lives in California with his wife Meghan Markle and their two children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, has remained closely involved with the Invictus Games, a sporting competition he founded for wounded, injured and sick service personnel and veterans.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex relocated to the United States in 2020 after stepping back from their roles as working members of the royal family. Despite the move, Harry continues to champion the Invictus Games, which remains one of the causes most closely associated with his public work.
