According to Us Weekly, the King reportedly agreed to meet the Duke and Duchess of Sussex during their recent visit to Britain because their children would also be present.
Royal insiders claimed that Charles and Queen Camilla were especially eager to spend private time with seven-year-old Archie and five-year-old Lilibet.
One source told the outlet that the monarch “would only agree to the meeting if the kids were coming.”
“The King and Queen wanted personal time with their grandchildren, and they wanted it to be lighthearted and positive,” the insider said.
“The point of the meeting was to spend time with them, and that was the only thing on the agenda.”
The reunion was reportedly kept highly private, with staff dismissed before Harry, Meghan and their children arrived.
“Details were kept under wraps,” the source added. “They didn’t want anything to get out.”
Charles and Camilla reportedly met Harry, Meghan, Archie and Lilibet at the Highgrove estate in western England on July 10.
The meeting was said to be the King’s first in-person reunion with Archie and Lilibet since 2022.
