Meghan Markle has returned to social media to promote a new product from her lifestyle brand, As Ever, just hours after Prince Harry issued a fresh statement about security arrangements in the UK.
Taking to the official As Ever Instagram account, Meghan announced the launch of the brand's new Lavender Honey, which went on sale Tuesday alongside a limited re-release of its Orange Blossom Honey.
Sharing the announcement, the Duchess wrote:
"A floral gift of summer.
Our long-awaited Lavender Honey has arrived, alongside a small re-release of single jars of our Orange Blossom Honey. Just in time for summer, our newest honey is softly floral with a delicate warmth that lingers beautifully."
Meghan's post came shortly after Prince Harry's spokesperson addressed ongoing concerns about the Duke's security during visits to the UK.
According to the statement, the central issue has never been accommodation but whether Harry and his family will receive "appropriate and proportionate protective security" throughout any visit.
The spokesperson said Harry continues to explore every available option to ensure future trips can be made safely, adding that he hopes his children will have the opportunity to spend time in the UK.
The representative also stressed that "safe accommodation is only one element of an effective protective security plan because risk follows the person, not the place."
The statement concluded by reiterating that the dispute is not about where Harry stays while in Britain, but whether suitable security is provided for the duration of his visits.
Neither Meghan's product announcement nor the As Ever social media post made any reference to Prince Harry's security statement.
