Meghan Markle reportedly warned Prince Harry that his latest trip to the UK could end in disappointment, with royal insiders now claiming her concerns were justified.
According to royal commentator Rob Shuter, the Duchess of Sussex believed Harry's efforts to reconnect with his family would once again be met with rejection.
The claims surfaced after Prince Harry travelled to Britain alone this week, following reports that he would not be staying at Buckingham Palace during his visit.
According to royal sources, the Duke of Sussex was invited to stay at a royal residence but did not respond before a deadline set to allow palace staff to prepare for his arrival. The source said Harry later formally declined the invitation before attempting to reverse his decision, by which time the offer was no longer available.
Harry had reportedly hoped to bring Meghan and their children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, on what would have been the children's first visit to Britain in four years. However, his spokesperson confirmed over the weekend that the family would remain in California while Harry travelled alone.
Following the reported accommodation dispute, unnamed insiders told Rob Shuter that the situation was "one insult too many."
The same sources claimed Meghan had anticipated the outcome, saying she believed that "every time he reaches out to his family, they find another way to reject him."
According to the insider, the Duchess no longer wants to put herself or her children through similar experiences, suggesting she has little interest in future visits under the current circumstances.
Neither Prince Harry, Meghan Markle nor Buckingham Palace has publicly commented on the latest claims.
