Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet have been drawn into the continuing tensions surrounding their parents, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, following a controversial prediction about their future relationship with the Royal Family.
Archie, 7, and Lilibet, 5, were discussed by comedian and political commentator Mark Dolan during a conversation with The Royalist’s Tom Sykes.
Dolan speculated about the kind of public roles the children may take on when they become teenagers and young adults. He also compared their potential future with that of their cousins Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis.
The discussion initially focused on Prince Harry’s recent visit to the United Kingdom to meet King Charles. Dolan argued that the trip showed Harry could travel safely without the level of visible security he had previously sought.
“We discovered, for the U.K. return a couple of weeks ago, that he doesn’t need the cop cars and the helicopters,” Dolan said. “He can be in an SUV with blacked-out windows and get in and out of royal property very safely. It was about the look.”
He then suggested that tensions between the Sussexes and the Royal Family could continue after Prince William becomes king.
“You’re going to have Meghan and Harry making life a misery for King William and Queen Catherine,” he claimed, adding that the couple may want to spend a significant part of the year in Britain while maintaining what he described as a “rival court.”
Dolan went on to predict that the strained relationship could extend into the next generation.
“Archie and Lily, when they’re teenagers and young adults, I predict will make life a misery for George, Charlotte and Louis,” he said.
He also criticised King Charles, questioning whether the monarch had acted as a “responsible steward” of the institution Prince William is expected to inherit.
Dolan’s remarks remain speculative, particularly as Archie and Lilibet are still young children and have largely been kept away from royal duties and public life.
