Prince Harry reportedly has no intention of allowing his strained relationship with Prince William to affect Archie and Lilibet’s connection with King Charles.
Harry, Meghan Markle and their two children are said to have reunited with the King in Britain last week. However, Prince William and Kate Middleton reportedly did not meet the Sussex family amid the brothers’ continuing rift.
Sources claim the Prince of Wales deliberately kept his distance during Harry’s visit, ensuring that he did not cross paths with his younger brother or his family.
Harry is now reportedly planning another trip to the UK so Archie and Lilibet can spend more time with their grandfather. According to royal insiders, he is aware that William may not welcome the idea but has no plans to change course.
“Harry knows William will react badly to the whole idea, but he simply doesn’t care what his brother thinks,” a source told New Idea.
The insider claimed Harry does not want his brother to influence when his children are able to see the King.
“If he wants to be nasty about it and turn it into some sort of ugly confrontation, Harry can’t stop him,” the source said. “But he’s not going to let William dictate the terms of when his children spend time with their grandfather.”
According to the report, Harry believes the King’s approval is the only encouragement he needs to continue rebuilding their relationship.
“As far as he’s concerned, if Charles wants him there, that’s all the encouragement he needs to keep moving forward,” the insider added.
The source further claimed that Harry is prepared for a negative reaction from William and will not allow himself to be pressured into backing down.
“If it sends William into a meltdown, or they end up coming to blows, so be it,” the insider alleged. “He’s not going to be bullied.”
