Prince Harry has reportedly made a significant promise to King Charles following their private meeting in Britain last week.
Harry, Meghan Markle and their children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, are said to have reunited with the King and Queen Camilla at Highgrove House, the monarch’s country residence in Gloucestershire.
Speaking to Fox News Digital, royal commentator Helena Chard said King Charles had long hoped to spend time with his grandchildren. As the monarch continues to receive cancer treatment, she suggested that family relationships may now feel more important to him than ever.
Despite years of tension and public disagreements within the Royal Family, Chard said the King would be unlikely to turn down an opportunity to see Archie and Lilibet in private.
Several royal experts have also claimed that both Buckingham Palace and Prince Harry are committed to keeping the details of the meeting confidential in an effort to support possible reconciliation.
Royal commentator Katie Nicholl said the Palace was not expected to reveal how long the reunion lasted or discuss what was said. According to a source cited by Nicholl, the King was determined to keep the gathering private, while Harry assured his father that he would not speak publicly about it.
Royal expert Hilary Fordwich claimed the meeting lasted a little more than an hour, with Queen Camilla remaining by the King’s side. She also suggested that Charles had been particularly eager to reconnect with his grandchildren.
Fordwich added that communication between Harry and King Charles could continue, provided private conversations and family matters do not appear in the media.
No official details about the discussion have been released, and the Palace has not publicly confirmed the reported promise. However, the decision to keep the reunion private is being viewed by some royal observers as a potentially positive step toward repairing relations between father and son.
