Prince Harry's Team Coordinates with Met Police as He Leaves London Event

Prince Harry's security arrangements were once again in the spotlight during his latest visit to the UK, where the Duke of Sussex was seen leaving a central London event without state-funded police protection.

The Duke, who travelled to Britain without Meghan Markle or their two children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, attended the Invictus Games Foundation Conversation at Chatham House on Tuesday.

Before Harry departed the venue, members of his security team were seen speaking with officers from the Metropolitan Police outside the building.

Commenting on footage from the scene, senior British journalist Chris Ship wrote on X that, because Prince Harry no longer receives automatic state-funded security, his team appeared to have asked the Metropolitan Police to help manage the crowds, which were made up largely of members of the media waiting outside Chatham House.

The security arrangements come amid Harry's long-running dispute with the UK government over his level of protection when visiting Britain. The Duke has argued that the current arrangements are inadequate, while the government has maintained its position on the issue.

According to Harry's spokesperson, the Duke was unable to immediately accept an offer of accommodation at Buckingham Palace because he was still trying to finalize alternative security arrangements following the government's decision not to provide automatic police protection.

The developments came on the same day Harry suffered a legal setback after London's High Court dismissed his privacy lawsuit against Associated Newspapers, publisher of the Daily Mail. The ruling marked the latest chapter in the Duke's ongoing legal battles with sections of the British press.

Prince Harry had reportedly hoped to bring Meghan and their children to the UK for the visit, but the family ultimately remained in California after they were unable to reach an agreement with the government over security arrangements.
