A source told Heat World that years of conflict have severely damaged the trust between the brothers. Although William is often described as angry about the situation, the insider claimed his feelings are rooted more in sadness and hurt.
“Deep down, he still loves his brother, and no one ever imagined they’d still be this estranged after all these years,” the source said.
William has reportedly been reluctant to accept attempts at reconciliation because he feels an enormous responsibility toward the monarchy and his future role as King. According to the insider, he places intense pressure on himself and often feels as though he is carrying the weight of the world on his shoulders.
The source added that William has learned to hide his vulnerability, which can make his sadness appear as anger. Princess Kate, however, is said to understand what lies beneath his guarded exterior.
“People mistake it for anger, but Kate knows it’s actually sadness,” the insider claimed, describing William as a gentle person who has learned to protect himself by avoiding any sign of weakness.
Kate reportedly finds it difficult to see her husband consumed by resentment because she does not believe it reflects his true nature. She is said to be encouraging him to focus on the positive parts of his life and helping him move beyond the emotional turmoil surrounding his relationship with Harry.
