Queen Camilla has reportedly made her feelings clear as Prince Harry prepares to return to the UK next week.
According to royal expert Emily Andrews, writing for Woman & Home, the Duke of Sussex is hoping King Charles will invite him to Sandringham during his visit. However, Camilla is said to be far less open to the idea.
Insiders claimed Harry would welcome an invitation from his father, especially as it could give Charles a chance to see Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet for the first time in four years.
But according to the report, Queen Camilla remains a major obstacle.
Sources suggested Camilla has never fully forgiven Harry for the comments he made about her in the past. The Duke described her as “the villain” and referred to her as the “third person” in his parents’ marriage. He also accused her of being “dangerous.”
Andrews claimed she was told that Camilla jokingly said “over my dead body” when the idea of Harry and Meghan staying with her and the King at Sandringham or Balmoral was raised.
While the remark may have been made in jest, Andrews suggested the feeling behind it is believed to be genuine.
The claims come as Prince Harry is expected to return to the UK next week with Meghan Markle and their children, Archie and Lilibet. Reports have also suggested that King Charles has offered the family a private royal residence to use during their stay.
The possible visit has once again raised questions about whether Harry and Charles can repair their strained relationship, and whether Camilla would be willing to support any reunion behind palace doors.
