King Charles opens historic royal property to overnight guests

Visitors will soon have the opportunity to stay on the Sandringham Estate following the restoration of its historic Water Tower.

The estate announced the news on Instagram on Tuesday, sharing a video tour of the Victorian landmark, which has been transformed into an exclusive retreat for two guests.

“Rising majestically above the Norfolk countryside on the historic Sandringham Estate, a remarkable piece of Royal history is being unveiled for a new chapter,” the statement read.

Built in 1877 to supply fresh water to the royal residence, the tower has been carefully restored while retaining its original character. The estate said the accommodation combines royal heritage and striking architecture with sweeping views of the surrounding countryside.

Designed by renowned engineer James Mansergh, the Water Tower is known for its neo-Byzantine design, circular structure and detailed brickwork.

The landmark has overlooked the Norfolk countryside for almost 150 years and will now begin a new chapter by welcoming overnight guests.
