Meghan Markle could face a sensitive decision in 2027 as Princess Diana’s 30th death anniversary approaches.
According to Radar Online, the Duchess of Sussex may have to decide whether to return to Britain with Prince Harry for any commemorations held in Diana’s memory. Sources claimed the choice would not be straightforward, given the intense public attention such a visit could bring.
“One option is supporting Harry through what would be a deeply emotional moment for him,” an insider told the outlet. “The other is avoiding the scrutiny and unresolved family tensions that could come with a return to the UK.”
The anniversary could prove especially delicate if Prince William and Princess Catherine attend the same events. A joint appearance by the two couples could prompt renewed focus on the reported divisions within the Royal Family rather than Diana’s legacy.
Harry and Meghan stepped back from their roles as working royals in 2020 and later moved to the United States with their children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet.
Another source suggested that a major family milestone could offer a chance for reconciliation, but could also highlight issues that have not been resolved. Meghan would reportedly be aware that every interaction at a public event would be closely examined.
The couple’s children may also influence any decision. Harry and Meghan have largely kept Archie and Lilibet out of the public spotlight, and a high-profile royal event in Britain could bring a level of attention they have worked to avoid.
