Meghan Markle reportedly received a major confidence boost after reuniting with King Charles at Highgrove House.
According to Heat magazine, the Duchess of Sussex left the private family meeting feeling “vindicated” because it allegedly went ahead without the involvement of Prince William or Kate Middleton.
The Prince and Princess of Wales have reportedly shared a strained relationship with Meghan for years. However, an insider claimed the latest development showed that Harry and Meghan could rebuild ties with the King without first securing the couple’s approval.
“It’s becoming increasingly clear they don’t need William and Kate’s approval, which has really boosted Meghan’s confidence,” the source said.
Charles is reportedly keen to put the long-running family dispute behind him and create a better future for the Sussexes and their children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet.
“The fact that Charles is working so hard to put this rift in the past and lay the groundwork for their future, not just for Harry and Meghan, but for their children, is hugely satisfying,” the insider added.
The source also claimed that Harry and Meghan believe William and Kate previously tried to prevent a reconciliation and made their lives unnecessarily difficult.
“Both Meghan and Harry believe that William and Kate went out of their way to make life as difficult as possible for them and tried to block a reconciliation at every turn,” the insider alleged.
“Ultimately, they failed, so Meghan and Harry feel vindicated.”
Despite the tension between the two couples, Harry and Meghan are reportedly still open to repairing their fractured relationship with William and Kate. Whether the alleged meeting with Charles will help bring the wider family closer together remains to be seen.
