Meghan Markle has opened up about the advice Prince Harry gave her that continues to help her during challenging moments.
The Duchess of Sussex made a rare public appearance on Tuesday at a special Los Angeles screening of Cookie Queens, a Girl Scouts documentary she and Harry executive produced through Archewell Productions.
During a question-and-answer session following the screening, Meghan spoke about resilience and reflected on a lesson Harry learned during his years as a helicopter pilot in the British Army.
Meghan said the advice often comes to mind when life becomes difficult or unpredictable.
“I was thinking about something my husband told me ages ago, because we all go through experiences and life is full of surprises,” she said.
Recalling Harry’s words, Meghan added: “Sometimes on really hard days, he was like, ‘My love, even if there’s a storm happening, above the storm, the sun’s always shining.’”
She explained that the message is about taking a step back and viewing difficult situations from a wider perspective.
The event was reportedly Meghan’s first public appearance in several months. It came shortly after she shared photographs from her family’s summer travels on Instagram.
The images featured visits to Portugal and the United Kingdom, including a private trip to Althorp House, the Spencer family estate and the burial place of Princess Diana.
Meghan and Harry were reportedly joined by their children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, during the family visit.
