Prince William faces 'huge challenges' over Harry's possible UK return

Prince William could face a difficult new set of challenges if Prince Harry and Meghan Markle move back to the UK, according to a royal expert.

Speaking to Page Six, royal commentator Tom Sykes claimed that Harry's return could deepen tensions between William and their father, King Charles.

“It’s going to represent huge challenges for William,” Sykes said.

He added that the Prince of Wales would need to decide how to handle the situation, arguing that it may not be “sustainable” for William to continue avoiding contact with his younger brother.

William and Harry are reportedly not on speaking terms following years of tension between them.

Sykes questioned how William might respond if King Charles invited Harry to spend Christmas with the Royal Family or if the Duke of Sussex wanted to attend major national events.

“What is going to happen if Charles invites Harry to join the royal family for Christmas? What is going to happen if Harry wants to attend the Remembrance Day celebrations?” he asked.

“What is going to happen if his father endorses Harry by appearing in public shoulder to shoulder with him? It’s a huge succession of challenges for William.”

The royal expert also predicted that Harry could seek his father’s support for the 2027 Invictus Games. Founded by the Duke of Sussex, the international sporting event supports wounded, injured and sick military personnel and veterans.

According to the outlet, King Charles only recently learned of Harry and Meghan’s reported plans to return to the UK. William, however, is said to have no intention of reconnecting with his brother if the Sussexes make the move.
