The Duchess of Sussex may begin an exciting new chapter in her career.
Meghan Markle could soon return to acting, more than six years after leaving the profession.
PR expert Mayah Riaz believes acting could help Meghan reconnect with the life she had before joining the Royal Family.
“A return to acting could actually be quite interesting for Meghan because it would take her back to an identity that existed before the Royal Family,” Riaz said.
She explained that returning to an old career can sometimes be more powerful than trying to create a completely new one. It could also encourage people to see Meghan as an actress again, instead of only viewing her as the Duchess of Sussex.
However, Riaz said the attention surrounding Meghan’s comeback could be a problem. Interviews, premieres and casting news may continue to focus on Prince Harry, the Royal Family and past disagreements.
If Meghan truly wants a fresh start, Riaz believes she will need to keep the attention on her acting rather than her disagreements with the Royal Family.
“If she genuinely wants a fresh chapter, she has to be prepared to talk about the work rather than the feud,” she said.
