Prince Harry absent from Invictus Games anniversary video

The Invictus Games Foundation released a video on Thursday to celebrate the 12th anniversary of its first event, but its founder, Prince Harry, did not appear in the footage.

The anniversary coincided with World Suicide Prevention Day. In a statement, the charity remembered members of the Invictus community who have died over the years.

“We also remember members of our community we have lost over the years, while recognizing the impact that sport, connection and the Invictus Spirit can have on those who are struggling,” he said.

The foundation shared the anniversary video on its official Instagram account, looking back at the inaugural Invictus Games held in London in 2014.

“The Invictus Games London 2014 turns 12 today, and we love looking back at an event filled with so many iconic moments, when the city of London came together to support the Invictus Community at such a pivotal moment,” the statement continued.

The organization also highlighted its ongoing commitment to supporting wounded, injured and sick military personnel and veterans.

“The Invictus Games are about Changing Lives and Saving Lives through the power of sport, and we are honored to continue that work today, using sport and adventurous challenge to support recovery and rehabilitation for wounded, injured and sick service personnel and veterans,” it added.
