Prince Harry reportedly feels that his uncle Charles Spencer’s new book about Princess Diana supports his own criticism of royal life.
Speaking on his podcast, commentator Rob Shuter claimed Harry sees similarities between Spencer’s account and his own experiences.
“Harry feels completely vindicated. For years, he was accused of betraying the family by speaking publicly,” Shuter said.
He suggested that Harry and Meghan believe Diana’s story shows the harm caused when protecting the monarchy takes priority over caring for individual family members.
According to Shuter, the couple see the book as helping to explain their decision to step back from royal duties. These views were attributed to them by Shuter, rather than expressed in a direct statement from the couple.
Meanwhile, an unnamed source told RadarOnline.com that Prince William was upset by the renewed public debate.
“For him, this is not ancient royal history or material for another book. It is his mother, his father and the most traumatic period of his childhood,” the source said.
The source added that William wants Diana’s memory treated with dignity and finds it especially painful that the latest claims come from his own uncle.
