Meghan Markle and Prince Harry have reportedly faced significant disappointment as their attempts to undermine the monarchy and the Royal Family are perceived as unsuccessful.
Lee Cohen, a former advisor on US/UK relations to the House of Representatives Foreign Affairs Committee, asserted that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex have "failed" in a specific endeavor. According to Cohen, "Right from the beginning, their first failure was that they failed to harm the monarchy and the Royal Family."
Speaking on GB News with Mark Dolan, Cohen explained that Americans are not receptive to what the Sussexes are presenting. He stated, "Americans have no appetite for what the Sussexes are selling. While initially they were received with a great deal of interest, Americans, like Brits, don’t have patience for negativity, for victimhood narratives, for trashing one’s family for monetary gain, and certainly for hypocrisy."
Despite initially attracting attention, especially with their headline-making interview with Oprah and a Netflix documentary detailing their challenges as working royals, the couple seems to have lost favor with both American and British audiences.
Cohen emphasized, "Americans, like Brits, don’t have patience for negativity, for victimhood narratives, for trashing one’s family for monetary gain, and certainly for hypocrisy."
