Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson has announced that he will refrain from endorsing any candidate in the upcoming presidential race.
In a recent interview with Fox News, the Jumanji star, who previously supported Joe Biden during the 2020 elections, reflected on his past endorsement, stating, "Endorsing Biden felt right for me at that particular moment."
Recalling his thought process at the time, the 51-year-old actor explained, "I believed it was my responsibility to use my platform to voice my support for a candidate."
However, Johnson clarified that he has chosen a different path this election cycle. "Will I endorse a candidate this year? The answer is no," he affirmed.
Elaborating on his decision, Johnson expressed concerns about the divisive impact of endorsements. "Looking back, I realized that my previous endorsement contributed to the division within our country, something that deeply troubles me," he admitted.
With a renewed focus on unity, Johnson declared, "My objective now is to promote unity and bring people together. Therefore, I will not be making any endorsements."
Acknowledging the influence he wields, Johnson emphasized his preference for maintaining political privacy. "While I'm not afraid to voice my opinions, I believe politics is a personal matter best kept between oneself and the voting booth," he remarked.
