Although not official working royals, the daughters of the embattled prince are aiming to convey a sense of normalcy and relatability, according to style expert Marian Kwei on GB News.
The recent release of a Netflix drama recreating Andrew's ill-fated 2019 Newsnight interview, where he discussed his association with convicted s*x offender Jeffrey Epstein, has once again thrust the scandal into the spotlight.
Following the controversial interview, Prince Andrew faced repercussions, including the loss of his royal patronages and military titles, amid allegations of s*xual misconduct with a minor.
"Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie plan to use their fashion choices to project a message of 'business as usual' amidst the renewed focus on their father's scandal," Kwei shared with GB News.
She elaborated, "Their style will aim to reflect a relatable and down-to-earth image, demonstrating that they are attuned to contemporary trends and concerns, such as sustainability."
Highlighting a recent fashion choice by Princess Eugenie, Kwei pointed out, "Eugenie's decision to wear a short black satin dress by Me + Em, paired with a cardigan and vegan Loci trainers, during an event at the Hong Kong convention centre is indicative of this approach."
"The inclusion of vegan trainers aligns with the growing emphasis on sustainable and cruelty-free fashion, while her overall outfit suggests a relatable and approachable persona," Kwei added.
