Prince Edward Responds to King Charles' Latest Snub
Prince Edward reportedly feels let down by his brother, King Charles, for overlooking his and wife Duchess Sophie’s contributions during his cancer treatment.
Leading the royals in London for a tribute to fallen members of the Australian and New Zealand armed forces on Anzac Day today, April 25, the Duke of Edinburgh appeared solemn.
A source explained to Us Weekly that the youngest son of the late Queen had hoped to receive new royal appointments, which were distributed by the 75-year-old monarch earlier this week.
While Queen Camilla, Prince William, and Princess Kate were honored, Edward’s household had anticipated recognition for his dedication to the arts and his brief service in the marines.
“They were hoping Edward would finally be honored. His commitment to the arts, often overlooked, and his brief stint in the marines were highlighted,” the source revealed.
“Sophie has been a supportive presence during this transitional period, and they were optimistic it would lead to greater opportunities,” the source continued.
Although disappointed by the snub, they remain as loyal as ever, believing their efforts will be rewarded in due time.
“Despite the setback, Charles has been praising them, bringing them even closer as brothers,” the insider added.
