Believed to be assessing Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s intentions towards reconciliation, King Charles invites them to Balmoral.
In an interview with The Mirror, royal expert Tom Quinn unveils the 75-year-old monarch's hope for a positive response to his invitation for a retreat at the royal family’s Scottish estate in the summer.
"Based on discussions with individuals at Kensington Palace, King Charles has subtly suggested to Harry and Meghan that they should visit Balmoral in the summer to address the ongoing family feud,” he revealed.
"Charles understands that Harry and Meghan are more likely to respond positively to an invitation following the shock of Harry’s father’s cancer diagnosis and Kate’s health situation,” the royal expert explained.
“It’s one of those situations where good might just come out of bad,” Tom added.
Reports of the King’s olive branch to the Sussexes were first published by Page Six earlier this week, with a source alleging it stems from Charles’ “desperate desire” to see his grandchildren, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet.
An insider informed the Daily Express that Harry and Meghan are considering accepting the invitation and joining other members of the royal family for the excursion.
